ArthritisMost people think that arthritic conditions only affect the elderly, but the reality is that I see there are a large number of children with beginning signs of Osteoarthritis-spinal degeneration.Osteoarthritis is most often known as a “wear & tear” type of arthritis that is usually associated with aging. This type of arthritis is the most common. It can be detected in 35% of the general population by the age of 30 and by the time someone is 70 years old this condition is universal. Osteoarthritis is characterized by pain, stiffness, swelling, deformity and decreased range of motion. Osteoarthritis is your body’s attempt to repair something that has been damaged or under undue stress, such as from vertebral subluxations or misalignment of the bones (vertebrae) of the spine. Aging does not cause arthritis, it’s caused by some of the vertebrae in the spine being subluxated (misaligned) and never corrected among other reasons. It’s possible to slow down and reverse the damage. It is important to have children checked to determine whether they have subluxations to not only make certain there is no malfunction of the vertebrae which would then cause the arthritic process, but also ensuring normal health and function of the nervous system.
