Allergies
About 80 million Americans, or more than 20% of the population, suffer from some form of allergy.Allergies are simply a result of a hypersensitive immune system responding to a foreign protein in the blood stream. The immune system destroys bacteria, viruses and other unwanted intruders. However, in certain situations, the immune system targets an improperly digested food particle, pollen, mold, or animal dander and builds up an army of antibodies against such substances (antigens). Whenever the antigen is ingested or inhaled, the “army” (antibodies) goes into action, producing an allergic reaction.
The nervous system is the controlling factor for the immune system. Chiropractic adjustments remove subluxations or misalignments, so that the nerves are not irritated and hypersensitive to stimuli. Even if the allergies do not completely resolve when the subluxations (misalignments) are gone, you will have a much better time handling them.
